Black Student Scholarships: Entry & College Funding
Black students have different funding routes depending on their stage of study. Ron Brown is a competitive senior-year entry scholarship, while UNCF is a starting point for discovering separate programmes with their own rules. State and federal aid can also matter without being race-specific. Start with an actual named award and your graduation/enrollment status; HBCU interest alone is not a scholarship eligibility determination.

Ron Brown accepts current high-school seniors, not new applications from existing college students. A continuing undergraduate should investigate the individual UNCF-listed opportunities and general college aid rather than assume the senior-year award remains available.

Must a Ron Brown recipient choose an HBCU or a particular major?
The reviewed scholarship allows an accredited U.S. four-year college and any academic discipline. The applicant still needs to meet its senior-year, citizenship/residence and selection requirements; this is not a grant for every course or vocational programme.
Can an enrolled college student newly apply to Ron Brown?

Does a UNCF directory entry guarantee money?
