Already have college credit, need an online bachelor’s route, or have a bachelor’s degree and want graduate computing study? Compare the right degree level, the way tuition is billed and the work the school says remains. These four examples give you official requirements and a practical next step.
These are reviewed examples, not a ranking or a complete school directory. Tuition, an institutional average net price and your remaining degree bill answer different questions. Start with the school’s evaluation and quote.
Compare the billing model before the price
Each example retains its own academic year or effective term. Undergraduate completion and graduate admission are different decisions; read the full route before applying.
For academic year 2026–27, UMPI lists YourPace undergraduate tuition at $1,800 per eight-week session, with flat tuition regardless of the number of courses completed in that session. Your total depends on the sessions you actually need; this is tuition, not a guaranteed all-in degree price.
WGU’s table for six-month terms starting October 1, 2026 lists BS Business Management tuition at $3,850 per term. Tuition is term-based rather than per-credit; this is not the complete degree bill or a promise of how many terms you will need.
Effective August 2026, TESU lists full-time flat tuition for 9–18 credits per term at $3,595 for New Jersey residents or $4,652 for out-of-state students. Fewer than nine credits use per-credit tuition; credits above 18 add an overload charge. Other fees and remaining degree requirements still apply.
OMSCS requires at least 30 credit hours. The Fall-2026 bursar table lists tuition per credit at $227 in-state, $236 out-of-state or $248 out-of-country, plus online learning fees of $212 below four credits or $531 for four or more credits per semester. These are dated semester rates, not a guaranteed total degree price.
Start with the qualification you need and whether you meet its entry requirements. Undergraduate completion and graduate admission use different prior-degree rules; online availability alone does not settle admission, location eligibility or professional suitability.
STEP 2
Get the evaluation before buying more credit
Ask the receiving school which completed credits apply to the exact degree and what major, upper-level, institutional and capstone work remains. A transcript total or transfer estimator is not the final degree audit.
STEP 3
Price the same remaining plan
Keep each school’s credit units, billing period, rate year and fees together. Ask for an itemized remaining-cost quote and confirmed aid for those periods, then compare scenarios in the degree planner without assuming an accelerated finish.
Take the same questions to each school
Which completed credits apply to this exact degree, and which only appear on the transcript?
What major, upper-level, institutional, capstone and prerequisite work remains after the evaluation?
Which unit system and billing period does the quote use, and how many billable periods does the school expect?
What tuition, recurring fees, one-time charges, books and extra living costs are outside the advertised rate?
Which aid is actually approved for those periods, and which renewals, reimbursement conditions or later prices remain uncertain?
Which of these schools is the cheapest for my remaining degree?
The reviewed rate alone cannot answer that. Applicable prior credit, required courses, billing periods, residency classification, extra charges and actual aid can change the result. Compare the same goal using each school’s own evaluation and itemized quote; these examples are not an exhaustive price ranking.
Can I turn every old credit or free course into degree credit?
The receiving school decides what applies to the specific programme. Ask about subject equivalencies, major and upper-level requirements, institutional work, capstones and any transfer timing rules before paying for additional courses or exams.
Can I compare an eight-week price directly with a six-month price?
Keep the billing period attached to the rate and ask how much approved remaining work the school expects you to finish in each period. Compare the full remaining plan and fees, rather than sorting different period prices as if they bought the same study.
Does an online degree mean I can study from any country or obtain a U.S. visa?
Online delivery does not establish international admission, location eligibility, federal-aid eligibility or visa sponsorship. Read the programme’s international requirements and ask the school to confirm the route for your actual location before enrolling.
How does a historical college net price help with degree completion?
A cohort average is context for a particular student population and year. It does not replace a transfer evaluation, the appropriate personal school estimate or an aid offer. Keep the study remaining, price vintage and actual eligible aid separate in your plan.
