What it covers
At Delaware Tech, SEED pays the tuition gap after applicable grants/waivers for eligible degree, credit-certificate or workforce-training study. Fees and books are excluded; up to ten continuous semesters are available under programme rules.
Income / financial rules
Apply other appropriate aid before SEED; academic students file the FAFSA even if they expect no Pell award. Loans are not required. Noncredit certificate students are exempt from the FAFSA requirement under the renewal guidance.
Who to check first
Meet Delaware Tech admission and in-state residency requirements. Applicants aged 25 or older must document five consecutive years of Delaware residency before enrollment.
Application timing
Delaware Tech recommends financial-aid filing by the annual April 1 priority date. Apply early and complete all requested forms; no single year-specific final SEED deadline is established here.

Check your eligibility

Some items describe alternative routes rather than requirements for everyone. Use the route that applies to you as a preparation checklist; the program makes the eligibility decision.

How to apply

  1. 1
For degree/diploma/credit-certificate study: submit the Delaware Tech admission application, FAFSA and requested aid documents, and the SEED Interest/Consent Form. Complete placement/advisement and registration.
  2. 2
Provide the final DE transcript/GED and in-state residency documentation; age 25+ needs the five-year evidence. Foster-care applicants should identify themselves to Financial Aid and provide proof of the qualifying foster-care period.
  3. 3
For an eligible noncredit workforce programme, complete its separate SEED application, submit DE school/GED and residency documentation, complete the certification and any pre-enrollment screening, then await eligibility/space confirmation before enrolling.
  4. 4
For each later academic year, academic students complete the FAFSA and other aid requirements; ask the campus to confirm continued SEED eligibility and credits. The noncredit certificate route does not require the FAFSA.

What to watch for

Fees and books remain payable, and a Pell award covering full tuition leaves no SEED tuition gap. SEED does not pay repeated or unnecessary courses.
Ten continuous semesters count even if you attend part time or receive no SEED payment. Eligible associate graduates can get an additional bachelor’s year under the continuation rules; this is not a promise of a fully funded bachelor’s degree.
This review covers Delaware Tech. The general FAQ’s blanket FAFSA language must not be applied to noncredit trainees, whose specific renewal guidance expressly exempts them.
