Check your eligibility

Some items describe alternative routes rather than requirements for everyone. Use the route that applies to you as a preparation checklist; the program makes the eligibility decision.

How to apply

  1. 1
Complete both the Scholarship Idaho common application and FAFSA by the named deadline. The FAFSA must be complete and verified, not simply started.
  2. 2
Watch your account/email and accept or decline the offer by the date in the actual offer email. A text reminder is not an official offer; missed acceptance is treated as rejection and is not appealable.
  3. 3
Confirm the award with your school’s aid office, then renew through Scholarship Idaho by the annual March 1 date. If taking a break/dropping classes, notify the Board 30 days before the break starts.

What to watch for

An award can be $0 when other aid meets the applicable attendance-cost benchmark, even if the school’s actual bill is higher. The current guide and older FAQ describe benchmark use differently; ask the school for its personal calculation rather than treating the posted benchmark as your price.
The separate Adult Learner scholarship has prior-credit, study-break, entry-GPA and term-deadline rules. Do not apply its lower entry GPA to this regular scholarship.
